For the inquisitive
Notes from a professional copywriter and ex-journalist…
Just a guy in his late thirties with IBD trying to figure things out. I write about life, work, and creativity for people with curious minds like me in my free monthly-ish newsletter.
In 2024, I almost died, and had an epiphany.
That January, the Crohn’s disease I’d been diagnosed with a decade earlier flared up so badly that my bowel burst, leaving me with life-threatening peritonitis.
After the doctors had given me the stoma that saved my life, I did some soul-searching.
And I realised that, for all the fads I’d followed and hobbies I’d discarded over the years, there was one thing I’d always enjoyed more than anything else:
Learning something new.
Like the different approaches people take to stay healthy and happy, no matter the obstacle. Or a fresh way to use the power of the written word to be more successful in your career. Or even just how your favourite musician composed their latest smash hit single.
So now, about once a month, I share one thing I’ve found useful or interesting in my free newsletter. It’s aimed at anyone else trying to navigate middle age with a smile on their face and their brain still sharp.
Because getting older doesn’t mean you have to stop getting wiser.
